Innisfil’s New $200M Warehousing Development

Ground has been broken on a significant $200 million warehousing site in Innisfil, expected to generate approximately 225 jobs upon completion. The 1.3-million-square-foot facility, located at Innisfil Beach Road and 5th Sideroad in the Innisfil Heights Employment Area, is a project by DSV, a Denmark-based global transport and logistics company.

The groundbreaking event, held on June 19, was attended by notable figures including Ontario Premier Doug Ford and Innisfil Mayor Lynn Dollin. Premier Ford praised Ontario’s economic strength and participated in the ceremonial dirt-tossing.

DSV’s Canadian Managing Director, Rob Chanona, highlighted the strategic importance of the location, offering an alternative to the crowded Greater Toronto Area industrial market with easy access to Highway 400.

Construction, managed by the firm Broccolini, is slated for completion by August 2025. The facility is DSV’s second-largest in Canada and is seen as a major component of the company’s Ontario expansion.

Mayor Dollin remarked on the project’s significance for Innisfil’s strategic plan and economic development, envisioning it as a catalyst for further construction and investment in the region. Innisfil Heights, encompassing over 1,600 acres, aims to be fully serviced by 2028, potentially creating more than 16,000 jobs.

The project reflects the town’s commitment to sustainable and responsible growth, with local leaders expressing optimism about the future economic benefits for the community.
