Project B.A.S.E.
Building Accessible Supports and Education through Athena’s Counselling and Advocacy Centre
Project B.A.S.E. reduces barriers to trauma-informed services and education for civilian and non-civilian members of the CFB Borden community, their families, and anyone in the wider community impacted by sexual or gender-based violence.
Services are available virtually, as well as in person on base and at Athena’s Barrie office.

Confidential relocation and placement support
In some situations, safety requires more than counselling and education. When someone needs to explore relocation, we provide
confidential support and help with discreet placement navigation.
- Privacy-first: information is handled with strict discretion and shared only on a need-to-know basis.
- Advocacy-led: we help you understand options, reduce barriers, and move from uncertainty to clear next steps.
- Coordinated support: where appropriate, we connect with trusted community resources to support safer transitions.
If you are unsure whether relocation is needed, reach out anyway. We can talk through options safely and confidentially.
